You don't have to stay in New Jersey

Most teams will have a much easier weekend staying in Queens or Manhattan, getting to Randall's Island faster, and keeping things simple for players, coaches, and parents. Pick the neighborhood first. Then book the hotel that fits the trip.

Weekend note

If you're flying in, keep it easy. Stay somewhere with a clean route to the island, a decent dinner nearby, and enough room for the group to spread out a little.

Match-day reality

Saturday starts early. The best hotel is usually the one that gets the team fed, out the door, and onto Randall's without turning the morning into a whole production.

Choose your base

Stay where your weekend works.

For most teams, it comes down to three calls: Queens for the smoothest morning, Manhattan for the full New York weekend, or an airport stopover if the travel day is the real issue.

Quick read
01

Queens is usually the smartest base if your priority is a smooth tournament morning.

02

Manhattan is still the move if the team wants the full city weekend and doesn't mind a little more travel time.

03

Book where the group can actually eat, sleep, and get out the door without drama.

04

Don't over-optimize for the hotel brand. Pick the neighborhood first.

Most practical

Long Island City / Astoria

Clubs that want easier tournament mornings and better group value.

This is the easy call for most teams. Good room inventory, quick food options, and a much cleaner trip to Randall's Island than people expect on their first look at the map.

Best balance of price, transit, and getting the squad moving on time.
Classic New York

Midtown East / Upper East Side

Parents, supporters, and first-timers who want the city part of the trip too.

If the group wants dinners, walkability, and a proper New York weekend, this is the better fit. You trade some ease on tournament morning for a better city stay.

Best fit if the trip includes family, supporters, or a few extra nights.
Late arrival option

Airport hotel / first-night stopover

Teams landing late, managing a big travel day, or trying to keep night-one simple.

If your squad is getting in late, an airport-area stay for the first night can be the right move. Sleep, reset, and head into the city once everybody is actually on the ground.

Best fit when arrival logistics matter more than forcing the whole trip into one hotel.
